Add Page Numbers
Add page numbers to a PDF locally in your browser.
Your files stay on your device. Processing happens locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Select your PDF — drag it into the drop zone or click to browse.
- Choose the position for the numbers and the starting value.
- Click Add page numbers to stamp them onto the pages.
- Download the numbered PDF.
Why local processing?
Add Page Numbers processes your file inside your browser, on your own device. Your document is not uploaded to our servers. The browser may download code needed to run the tool, but those requests do not contain your file.
Check it yourself: open your browser’s network tab while a file is being processed — your document never appears in any request.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the document uploaded to add the numbers?
- No. The numbers are drawn onto the pages by a PDF engine running in your browser; the file itself stays on your device. The network tab shows no outgoing file data while the tool runs.
- Does file size matter?
- Each file can be up to 200 MB. Processing happens in your browser and also depends on available memory. Large or complex files may be slow or exceed your device’s resources even below this limit.
- What about GDPR documents?
- Nothing is transmitted, so no server-side processing of your document takes place. Page numbering happens on your machine, much like printing would.
- Can I choose where the numbers appear?
- Yes — choose the position on the page and the number the count starts from.
- Are the numbers part of the PDF afterwards?
- Yes. They are stamped into the page content itself, so every PDF viewer shows and prints them like any other text.
