Merge PDF
Combine multiple PDFs into a single file. Reorder them, then download — all in your browser.
Your files stay on your device. Processing happens locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Select your PDF files — drag them into the drop zone or click to browse.
- Drag the files into the order you want them to appear in the combined document.
- Click Merge to combine everything into a single PDF.
- Download the merged file — it never left your device.
Why local processing?
Merge PDF processes your file inside your browser, on your own device. Your document is not uploaded to our servers. The browser may download code needed to run the tool, but those requests do not contain your file.
Check it yourself: open your browser’s network tab while a file is being processed — your document never appears in any request.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my files uploaded when I merge them?
- No. When you combine PDF files here, everything runs in your browser using pdf-lib, an open-source JavaScript PDF library. Your files are read into memory on your own device and joined there — you can verify this yourself by opening your browser’s network tab while merging: no file data is transferred.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Each file can be up to 200 MB. Processing happens in your browser and also depends on available memory. Large or complex files may be slow or exceed your device’s resources even below this limit.
- Is merging PDFs this way GDPR-friendly?
- Your documents never leave your device, so there is no server-side processing, storage, or retention to worry about. That makes local merging a straightforward choice when your files contain personal data.
- Does merging reduce the quality of my pages?
- No. Each page is copied into the combined file as-is: text stays selectable, images keep their resolution, and nothing is re-compressed or re-flowed.
- Can I control the order of the merged files?
- Yes. Drag the loaded files into the sequence you want before merging. To rearrange or delete individual pages afterwards, open the result in the Organize PDF tool.
- Will the merged PDF be smaller than the originals?
- No — merging keeps every page as-is, so the result is roughly the size of all inputs combined. If you need a smaller file, run the merged PDF through Compress PDF afterwards.
